The other day you may have heard my huge triumph - I won the first ever Tom Douglas Award when the James Beard award winning chef came into the studio band judged all of our show members' home cooked food. Joe made pork, Spike made rie, Luciana made tomato somethings, and Pedro made some disgusting vodka dip. But Mama made meatballs. WINNER.

Here's the recipe so you too can be a winner:

one package grass fed organic beef

one package organic ground turkey

half package shitaki mushrooms, chopped finely

five organic leeks, only the whites, chopped finely

two eggs

three tablespoons panko breadcrumbs

one clove garlic, finely chopped

salt and pepper to taste

squeeze fresh lemon juice

MUSH TOGETHER INTO BALLS. BAKE FOR 30 MINUTES AT 375. SERVE OVER PASTA.

PASTA WAS SERVED COLD WITH HEIRLOOM TOMATOES, GOAT CHEESE, SALT AND OLIVE OIL.
