Ok, I dont actually smell a rat...at least not yet. But on a recent trip to my shed to drag out Emily's sled for a trip to the snow I found plenty of evidence that at least one rat has decide to take up residence in my outbuilding.
Its hard to believe I have made it this far in life without having a rodent problem but I have. Whats the best thing to do to deal with these critters ? Bob says trap them live and give them a ride to the woods. Others say the only good rat it a dead rat and to nuke 'em with poison. Kelli says spend some cash and call a professional. Any tips on how to deal with these varmits ?
By the way here are a few photos of the place where the rat is calling home including a shot of his suspected entry as well as a little of the "evidence" that alerted me to the problem.
Pretty big shed for a rat house...
Looks like he chewed his way in here
No jokes about how much junk I have in my shed please
looks like rat scat to me
Lots of ivy behind the shed. Should I get rid of it?
We recently had a little excitement outside the Clear Channel studios when a huge pile of Seattle Police surrounded a car with guns drawn.
A bank had been robbed in Magnolia and the thief was wearing a yellow jacket. Unfortunately the gentleman featured in this video also chose to wear a yellow jacket that day. Watch the video and see what happens when the cops suspect you of being a bank robber.
Also, Cudos to the Cops for handling themselves in a professional manner the entire time. There have been a few videos of alledged overzealousness by the SPD and I want to make sure to point out the IS NOT one of those type of videos.
Cheers and be careful out there, Joe
Nobody wants to see a season end and it is particulary painful to lose in the fashion that the Seahawks did to Atlanta.
I, like many fans have watched pretty much every minute of this incrdible season and have loved the ride. I hate to see it end but that does leave lots of time for other things.
If you devoted four hours a week to watching the game then you have spent 72 hours watching 16 regular season and two playoff games. Of course that does not include the many other great NFL games played by other teams. I have logged many hundreds of hours in front of the TV this fall for sure.
Now that the ride is over do you have any ideas what to do with that extra time ? Here are a few things I plan on doing.
1. Go to check out some of these Oscar nominated movies.
2. Start getting my Income Tax junk together.
3. Spend extra time planning and cooking healthy meals instead of shoveling in Football Food.
4. Take Emily to see cool places like the EMP and MOHAI.
5. Teach my old dog Bandit some new tricks....ok maybe not so much new tricks but turn our shorter walks into longer ones.
6. Tackle the long Honey Do list that my wonderful wife Kelli has so patiently let me ignore for the entire season.
I usually take the end of the NFL season very hard but thanks to plenty of optimism about the future of the Seahawks I think its going to be OK this time.
What do you plan to do with the extra time in your life? Are you feeling good about the 2012 Seahawk experience and the road that lise ahead? Feel free to share your thoughts and ideas.
I better get cracking on that Honey Do list. It will be Mariners season before you know it. Long Live King Felix !
