Twenty years and three radio stations ago I used to spend a few minutes every Friday discussing the best prospects for fishing during the upcoming weekend.
Many people have asked over the years why I stopped doing the fishing report and the basic answer is that I wound up getting married, having a child, and spending my weekends in pursuit of things other than bass, salmon and steelhead.
Now that the wife is working and the kid is older I am once again pulling out my rods AND giving a crack at firing up the Friday Morning Fishing Report.
Since I am by no means an expert angler I have recruited a friend to help me who is.
Bill Herzog is one of the most di-hard fisherman in the country and wrote the book, in fact several of them, on fishing the rivers, lakes and saltwater of the Northwest.
Bill is also a great radio guy and the co-host of Northwest Wild Country the top rated outdoors show you can hear every Saturday morning from 6 to 8 am on our big brother station Sportsradio 950 KJR AM.
Listen in the 7:00 hour to the Bob Rivers Show for the Friday Morning Fishing report and please let us know if you like what you hear because we have to sell Bob on making this a weekly thing. After all its not the Joe and Bill Show. :-)
Also, check out the nice trophy sized Kokanee Bill and I hooked into on Lake Chelan last week. These babies were fat, sassy and tasty !
That fishery is winding down but Bill has just pulled in from Sekiu where the action is heating up and he will tell you how to get the big Kings hitting tomorrow morning.
Also make sure you check out Northwest Wild Country hosted by Joel Shangle on Sportradio950 KJR FM and Comcast television. For all the details on what Joel, Bill and the crew have coming up hit up www.nwwildcountry.com.
