Long live King Felix ! It's not been a great decade for Mariners baseball but the faithful were rewarded yesterday with absolute perfection when, on a hot, sunny Seattle afternoon, Felix Hernandez pitched the 23rd perfect game in MLB History.

I was happy to be one of the 21,889 fans at Safeco and I have the ticket stub and photos to prove it !

As years go by I am sure that there will be more like 210,000 people that will claim to had been there.

Yesterday is something I will remember for the rest of my life and I know my friend Eric that went with me will as well. I am happy for Felix and am thrilled for the fans who have been patiently sitting at Safeco waiting for something good to happen for a LONG time.

I was at the game last month when a combined six pitchers threw a no hitter and, at the time I assumed that would be the only one I would ever get to witness. Now, after seeing Felix mow them down yesterday, I think another no no could be coming next week !

Yesterday I also saw a city fall in love with a true sports hero, and unlike many sports heroes that have played in this town this is a man who loves us right back ! I hope to see Felix Hernandez on the mound for many seasons to come and, since I am still feeling that Perfect Game glow, lets just add that I would also like to see him no hit the Yankees in an ALCS or, dare I say it, bring the World Series to Safeco Field.

Long live King Felix and if you were not able to be at the game check out these photos that I took of that wonderful moment from my perch behind Home plate.

 Go Mariners ! Joe
