Thanks to a tip from KJR FM listener and Facebook friend Deb G. I recieved a vital clue that helped me resolve once and for all who the person sitting at the bar with Jim, Jimi, Bob and Janis is in this great painting.

There were hundreds of theories on who this could be and I was getting ready to be convinced it was Lenny Bruce or Johnny Cash. It was neither of these artists. In fact, it was not anyone guessed by anybody. The reason I know this is because I tracked down the artist and asked him.

The man who did this great painting is an artist in Isreal named Ido Bar Zakay. He calls the work "The Last Supper or The First One In Heaven ". The original is hanging in a Pub in Isreal and you can watch a video of him creating the painting here.

Ido tells me that the man at the bar rolling the "tobacco" is .....drumroll.......... Meir Ariel a very famous Isreali poet and folk singer who passed on in 1999. I guess the dude is right up there with Jimi, John Lennon and all the other famous folks in this photo but ONLY if you love Hebrew Folk Music. You can listen to one the songs known is Isreal as 'the man of words" here.

And if you would like to see more of Ido's very unique work or maybe even order a print of the above painting reach out to him on his website HERE.

Mystery Solved and thanks to my friend Doug P. who sent me the painting that has had me scratching my head for a few days now.

   Cheers, Joe
