In 1973, 19 year old Who fan Thomas Scot Halpin had his rockstar dreams come true, if maybe not the way he intended. Keith Moon, famous for his drug use, passed out behind the drum-kit. While Moon was rushed to the hospital, Halpin answered the call from his rock'n'roll heroes and jammed on 3 Who songs. Daltrey praised Halpin in the press, and Halpin said he had new respect for the band's stamina, because those three songs on the drums wiped him out. Below is video from the night of the incident.

Halpin passed away in 2008. The Who gave him one last shout-out on their website, and directed fans to this memorial blog from Halpin's wife.
