"Gentleman's Clubs," like the Deja Vu near Safeco Field, often draw criticism and controversy. While church groups, parents and girlfriends may object, the appeal for a guy is obvious: we like women! And so we drag our knuckles through the doors of a dimlit venue promising a sexy encounter with a shapely siren. And they empty our wallets.
I mean... Not me. I've never been. But that's what I've heard from other guys.
Ahem.
In Springfield, Oregon, strip clubs are like Starbucks. There seem to be Girls! Girls! Girls! on every corner.
But why is there no shortage of dancers willing to take their clothes off? There are approximately 400,000 exotic dancers in the United States alone! Is the money that good?
It's pretty damn good for a job that doesn't require a degree. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Strip Clubs are a $75 Billion global industry. The average yearly income for dancing in your birthday suit is $125,000. And that's reported income. All in $1.00 bills.
Boy, if I was a woman, had a better body and no inhibitions, I might consider it. But I'd keep my socks on. I get cold feet.
