If you are in the mood for a summer popcorn action film, "The Wolverine" delivers. Hugh Jackman is appropriately intense and spends a great deal of screen time shirtless, which the ladies will appreciate. And if you like Japanese culture (which I do), you'll feel like you've traveled abroad. Check out the trailer:
"Fruitvale Station," on the other hand, feels like stepping inside the life of Oscar Grant, the young African-American man unfairly killed by a police officer at the Fruitvale BART station in Oakland, California. Actor Michael B. Jordan (from HBO's "The Wire") is absolutely convincing as Oscar, whose personality switches between a caring, considerate family man and a hardened criminal. Filmmaker Ryan Coogler uses innovative techniques that make you feel like you are right in the middle of the action. "Fruitvale Station" is an important film that should give Michael B. Jordan an Academy Award.
